Overlaying your existing benchtop with stone

Affordable stone benchtops

Planning a kitchen makeover? Do you have existing laminate benchtops in your kitchen?

Customers have been requesting that Granite Planet replace their existing benchtops and in turn, give their kitchen a much needed facelift.

At Granite Planet, we have recommended to these customers to keep their existing laminate benchtops with the intention to resurface this top by placing stone directly on the laminate.

Why this option?

1. Cheaper and more cost effective if planning a budget kitchen renovation
2. Gives your kitchen a finer finish with the application of stone
3. Adds to your home's market value
4. Allows for the laminate to be cut back / trimmed and a nice modern edge to be applied (ie. replace an out-dated edge style). Note: The laminate will not be visible to the eye with this method
5. Job turnaround is much quicker with a shorter process
6. Less mess and room for error.

Savings to consider when getting a quote:

  • Use the laminate as a substrate (to support the stone)
  • Keep your current cabinetry, splashbacks and tiling etc
  • Option to keep existing appliances or changeover to modern appliances (with the same sizing).
Note: A plumber and electrician will be required to disconnect and reconnect as necessary
  • Durable material application.

Happy renovating.
